Celebrated chef and Korean Buddhist nun, the venerable Jeong Kwan, will share her philosophy of cooking as a spiritual practice, in conversation with Mina Park. Dubbed the "Philosopher Chef", Jeong Kwan is on a journey to share the beauty of Korean Buddhist temple cuisine with an international audience. Korean Buddhist temple food is the embodiment of Buddhist tenets such as compassion, mindfulness, and gratitude, and is inherently local and seasonal, which has touched a chord with the global culinary community. With this event, Jeong Kwan will be addressing a Hong Kong audience for the first time. She will be preparing dosirak (Korean bento boxes), with support from AMMO and Sook, of Korean temple food with ingredients from her temple for the audience.
